Playback singer Abhijeet and his tenant have been booked for assault by Oshiwara police in western Mumbai, after they allegedly had a fisticuff over a property matter, police said today.

Abhijeet Bhattacharya, who owns a presmise in Royal Classic building in suburban Andheri, allegedly went there last night after a cheque of Rs 2.91 lakh issued by his tenant Arvind Sarvadekar as dues allegedly bounced, and asked him to vacate the house, they said.

Police said, what transpired between the two there was not known, but later, both lodged complaints of assault against each other at Oshiwara police station.

The matter was under investigation and no action has been taken so far, police said.
