The campaign which has been initiated with the non-profit organisation Uday Foundation, aims at reaching out to the underprivileged section of society. She is the latest advocate in the growing list of celebrities who have voiced their support for the campaign which include TV actresses like Kritika Kamra and Ishita Sharma. With Yami Gautam's participation, this initiative has achieved a greater impetus which in turn will help the campaign to generate more funds for the noble cause.
Till date, Foodpanda has helped satiate food cravings by helping customers to order food online. Their new campaign now induces patrons to generously feed the lesser privileged by simply logging on to the website and making a donation of the listed food item like food grains, pulses, vegetable oil, biscuits and so on. Foodpanda will forward the proceedings to the charitable institution thus reaching out to many children who deserve to live a healthy and happy life.
With the gracious gesture of the 'Food for Soul' campaign, Foodpanda lends support to Uday Foundation's ongoing project 'Santushti' through which it has been providing nourishment and food to the impoverished. Uday Foundation is one of the most trusted grass root NGOs of India which works towards improving the lives of children and aims to ensure health with dignity to every underprivileged child and adult in the country.
Yami Gautam said, "Living in our sheltered and cocooned worlds, it is often easy to forget that we lead a life of privilege. The 'Food for Soul' campaign sensitises us towards the fact that there are many who are not even fortunate enough to get a basic square meal a day. Through this campaign, Foodpanda.in reminds us to share the joy we feel on eating great food with the less privileged. I am glad to partner with this campaign and join in spreading the cheer that only food can bring into our lives." Rohit Chadda, MD and founder - Foodpanda.in said, "Actors today are increasingly becoming aware of their social responsibility and lending their names to several causes that appeal to them. We appreciate Yami's gesture of coming forward to promote the Food for Soul campaign. This will help us spread the motive of this campaign through her fans and garner more traction. We are pleased with the way celebrities have chosen this campaign to shed light on our endeavour to feed the lesser privileged and touch their lives through the gift of food."
Said Dr Hitendra Mahajan, Founding Member of Uday Foundation, "After Ishita and Kritika, Yami Gautam is the perfect crusader for this campaign as she shares our commitment to help enhance the lives of those who lead a hand-to-mouth existence.
