Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider, a Shakespearean adaptation, has been nominated for reputed 9th Asian Film Awards not only in one but in three categories. The film will compete for Best Film, Best Director and Best Production Designer. Haider has swept all the awards till now in all prestigious awards function for all the categories.


The Asian Film Awards are presented annually by the Hong Kong International Film Festival Society to recognize the excellence of the film professionals in the film industries of Asian cinema where eminent filmmakers and superstars from around the world are invited to bestow awards upon the winner(s) of each category, making the ceremony a dazzling extravaganza as well as an influential cultural event.

The award function will take place on 25th March in Macau.
