The Bard may have said, "What's in a name?" but when it comes to Katrina Kaif, it does signal a lot. At a conclave in New Delhi recently, the star stated that she switched to Katrina Kaif from Katrina Turquotte as it made more sense to use Kaif - which is her father's name.
As he is from India and her mother is British, the Indian heritage was more important to her. Now all this while Ayesha Shroff and Kaizad Gustad, who launched her in their film 'Boom' (2003), had claimed that they changed her surname as Turquotte would have been difficult to pronounce.
First, they had thought of naming her Katrina Kazi, but then thought of Kaif as at that time Indian cricketer Mohammed Kaif was a rage. The name game begins yet again.
