/> Controversies and Zee Cine awards go hand in hand. Previously it was Bachchan's maltreatment which gave the event a lot of bad press and this year Mallika Sherawat gave a huge blow to the proceedings when she failed to show up in Mauritius.

Mallika Sherawat who was supposed to host a segment of the awards ceremony with Karan Johar backed out at the last minute. The reason? The organisers did not accede to her demands.

According to them a flight on March 2 was booked for her, but Mallika couldn't take that flight. Due to heavy rush they couldn't find anything but economy class ticket on March 3, which the Jat girl obviously refused to board.

Finally, she was asked to fly with Shah Rukh Khan in the evening, on his chartered plane but Shewrawat even turned that offer down as well and went unreachable after that.

Some insiders claim that Mallika wanted to take along people like her bodyguards, manicurist, pedicurist and some relatives from Rohtak to Mauritius — all on a private, chartered plane. As the organizers couldn't afford the entire entourage, Mallika dropped out of the show.

Zee group is keeping mum about the hiccup and refuses to comment on the entire issue. Mallika, meanwhile, is unavailable for comment.
