After Farhan Akhtar and Raituporno Ghosh, Yash Chopra is also going the remake way. The veteran dirctor is all set to to remake his own '70s block-buster Kabhie Kabhie
which had Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor and Rakhee in lead roles.
Chopra wants Shah Rukh to play Amitabh Bachchan's role and Akshay Kumar to play Shashi Kapoor's role.
"I wanted to make the remake of Kabhi Kabhie with stars of today's generation for quiet some time," he tells. However, it will definitely not be a frame-to-frame remake, the
subject will be similar to the earlier one but the treatment and approach will definitely be more contemporary.
Shahrukh was extremely excited when he heard about the project. He is currently doing another Bachchan remake, Don, but Amitabh's role in Kabhi Kabhie is definitely a
dream role for any actor. This new combination of Shahrukh and Akshay has a fresh appeal and may have a great chemistry.
Currently Akki is away in Cape Town and will meet Chopra once he is back from his outdoor shoot. Yashraj Films had also approached Rani Mukherji for Rakhee's role.
Apparently Rani doesn't have dates available, so now they are considering Preity Zinta.
