Mallika Sherawat is having time of her life. After getting some plum offer from the likes of Subhash Ghai and Ram Gopal Verma, the Jat girl has now bagged Mani Ratnam's next film Guru where she is playing an important character alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Mithun Chakraborthy.

A Ratnam camp source confirmed this news. "Mani sir has signed Mallika for an important cameo. But I can't reveal the details of the character because hers is a very crucial cameo which plays a significant part in the narrative of the film."

It was also reported that Vivek Oberoi is no longer a part of Guru. "I have no idea what actually transpired but a replacement is being worked out and will be announced soon. Mani sir is very excited about this film as are Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai too," says the source.

Another interesting casting in the film is in the form of Mithun Chakraborthy. Mithun was to work with Ratnam years back on a Tamil film called Anandam. However but it didn't work out because Mani wanted Mithun to chop off his hair and Mithun was committed to work with other directors at that time.
