Farhan Akhtar has been actively working towards gender equality. He has time and again supported initiatives and voiced his opinion on gender equality.

Recently when the ace actor found out about Anand Bansode, who climbed the highest mountain in Australia to support the very cause of gender equality, he was very appreciative.

Farhan got to know about Anand through a friend and then looked up the news. The ace actor saluted Anand's spirit on a social networking site as well.

Anand climbed the highest mountain in Australia i.e Kosciuszko, to spread the message and continues to work towards the cause.

Farhan has asked his team to reach out to Anand and is infact keen to meet him whenever possible.

Farhan personally has set up MARD which is an initiative which works towards spreading gender awareness. Farhan also came on board as the Goodwill ambassador for the UN He for She Campaign earlier this year.
