Multi-hued strobe lights cut through perfumed smoke and the "Star Wars" theme boomed as ravishing model-actress Katrina Kaif launched photography major Kodak's latest
offering - a twin lens digital camera that doesn't cost the moon.
"This is absolutely great. I've never seen anything like it," Katrina, dressed in a knee-length lace skirt over a black top, declared at the launch Friday of the EasyShare V570
that will retail for Rs.23,999.
"We, as global leaders in imaging, believe in constantly reinventing ourselves to offer our consumers the ultimate imaging experience," said Kodak India managing director
Ravi Karamcheti of the new offering that packs a 23 mm ultra wide angle lens and a 39-117 mm optical zoom with a 5X optical magnification range of 23-117 mm.
"Capturing high-quality images with maximum ease of use are at the top of people's minds when buying a new digital camera. By delivering on these needs in a completely
new way, the V570 pushes the boundaries of innovative design for ultra-compact cameras," Karamcheti added.
The new camera packs a host of features, including in-camera stitching that automatically combines three pictures into a panorama - a Kodak exclusive, Karamcheti
claimed. Not surprising, as it was Kodak that launched the digital photography age in 1975.
The V570 records TV-quality video at up to 30 frames per second using advanced MPEG-4 compression. Built-in image stabilising technology reduces on-screen shaking
from unintentional hand and camera movement.
The V570 includes Kodak EasyShare software for Windows and Macintosh systems - enabling effortless picture organising, editing, sharing and printing - and even CD and
DVD burning, Karmacheti pointed out.
