Will 'Tenet' be released in India after the reopening of cinemas? Here's the inside story!
As the news of the reopening of the cinema halls on October 15, is creating doubts in netizen's minds that what we'll get to watch there? As the producers of big-budgeted movies will first wait and see the reactions of the audience and then announce the release dates. And if we talk about Hollywood films, the first one which comes to mind is Christopher Nolan's Tenet, which, subordinately, also the film which restarted cinemas in many countries when they reopened after the lockdown due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Now the question arises, will Warner Bros.' Tenet feed Indian multiplexes from October 15?

Reportedly, Tenet is all set to hit the screens in India. And it's not in just the original English version but the Hindi and South language dubbed versions are also ready. However, the movie might still not make it to the multiplex. Why? Well, here's the inward story.

Warner wants to wait for cinemas to reopen in major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Mysore, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, where Hollywood tickets can lap up promptly. While this is not the only thing behind this glitch, the other one is regarding revenue-sharing. It is now more than 45 days since Warner approached the exhibitors to discuss improved revenue-sharing terms for the anxiously awaited film.

It may be stated that Warner has secured around 65% of the total numbers worldwide. Usually, it is nearly 50% of the share, but due to an aspect of the risk, it's a fear of earning less as there is no idea how much the audience will visit cinema halls.

That's why without any certainty on both the points - response of audience regarding theaters, and the share which exhibitors would be amenable to provide Warner - it is doubtful that the Hollywood studio will proclaim a release date for the film in India.
