Helene Traasavik

Helene grew up in a small parish called Hellvik in Egersund city, Norway, it is a beautiful country with landscapes ranging from high mountains with breathtaking fiords & icebergs to white beaches depending on the season you can enjoy surfing and the beach or snowboarding and skiing. Helene’s mother is thai, therefore she is used to travelling frequently between norway and thailand to visit her grandparents. Having completed her education helene is now working as a model, her ambition is to study design. Hobbies and sporting interests are: jazz & ballet dance, listening to music – especially house music; surfing; skiing; pilates; and making people laugh. Favourite motto is “ never stop dreaming, cause with eyes in the stars and feet on the ground you can achieve anything. Nothing is impossible, only challenging!”.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Self confident, adventurous, creative

Do you have a special or unusual talent? (what is it?)
To wind surf in the snow in cold winter time! Other than that, I am good at making other people laugh – with me or at me!

Where would you most like to visit in the world and why?
Koh phi phi, thailand, what can I say – it’s paradise on earth! Other than that, somewhere is latin america like mexico or brazil.

What is the best thing about your country?
This may sound like a cliché, but I would have to say the nature. Norway has sites and surroundings much like some of the scenes from lord of the rings. Norway can offer everything from steep mountains and glaciers to white beaches. In summer, one can actually choose between beach life, wind surfing and sun bathing or one hour travel to the mountains to ski in the county where I live. This is perfect for me, as wind surfing and down hill skiing are two of my hobbies.

If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
I wish for one of my family members to get well from a disease she has, and which has caused her a lot of pain.

What is your message to all the other miss world contestants?
Congratulations on winning your national crown!! You have come so far! Never stop dreaming, because with eyes at the stars and feet on the ground, you can achieve anything!! Nothing is impossible, only challenging. These are some of the mottos I try to live by.
