Sanja Grohar

Sanja was born in Kanj, also called the city of France presern after Slovenia’s greatest poet. Slovenia gained its independence in 1991. Currently studying management in Kranj, Sanja’s ambition is to be a successful manager and a singer. Sanja has been dancing for 10 years, singing for 3 years and loves show business. Other interests are: drawing, roller skating, listening to mtv music, especially r & b, and hip hop. Last month she got a 3 month old shih-tzu puppy and has named him nicky. Favourite food is chinese but she just loves chocolate. Personal motto is “who’s hoping is insisting, who’s insisting is winning”.

How would you describe yourself in three words?
Positive, ambitious, loving. The words are not enough to describe myself as a person. I think that words are only words but energy of a person is the most important factor.

Do you have a special or unusual talent? (what is it?)
I love singing. I am attending singing and dancing courses. I recorded 5 songs for my cd and have my own video spot. I love performing too and for this reason I acted in several spots. I am dancing hip-hop and jazz ballet. And when I need to relax I draw.

Where would you most like to visit in the world and why?
It’s hard to pick up just one special place that I would love to go to. I would like to visit malaysia because it looks like my dream country. I wish to learn more about their culture and people.

What is the best thing about your country?
I love everything about slovenia. It is paradise on earth. We have mountains, a lot of green land, waterfalls, sea, rivers, lakes, caves, castles… so many interesting places and things on such a small island. Almost every region and village has it’s own national costume and every town its historical remarkableness. And I have to mention that I am proud that slovenia is one of the safest countries in europe. Our country was part of former yugoslavia until 1991. That year we became independent.

What is your favourite…..
Film: 'The Others', staring Nicole Kidman
Music: I love mtv music. So I like different styles of music; R&B, hip-hop, pop…
Singer/band: Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles
Book: 'Alchemist'; because the book is telling us that we don’t need to crave for things that are out of reach

If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
I wish that all evil would be banished form this world.

If you were stuck on a desert island with one other person (famous or not) whom would you choose?
That would be the dali lama. He is a great spiritual leader and I know he could teach me a lot of things about life.

What is your message to all the other miss world contestants?
Lets unite our beauty, because we have ‘beauty with a purpose’. I plan to live my dream and I wish you all the same. I wish you all good luck in the finals.
