Where would you most like to visit in the world and why?
India – since it has always been my wish to visit the birthplace of lord buddha and pay my respects.
What is the best thing about your country?
I come from a beautiful island called Sri Lanka known as the ‘pearl of the indian ocean’. Our golden beaches, green hills and blue skies have always enchanted travellers from all over the world, where the people are friendly and hospitable. Our island is multilingual, multireligious and multicultural with sinhala and buddhism being the main language and religion respectively.
What is your favourite…..
Film: 'Hansawila' – a drama
Music: Love songs
Singer/band: Nada Malini – a female singer from Sri lanka
Book: 'Bodha Meedhum' by Sujeewa Prasanna
If you were granted one wish, what would it be?
To win the miss world 2005 title.
If you were stuck on a desert island with one other person (famous or not) whom would you choose?
My beautician and great friend. Besides his many talents, he is full of compassion, energy, laughter and so much fun to be with. So since I am not romantically involved with any one at present and until I find my ‘prince charming’ I most definitely would choose him to be on a desert island where not only would we have fun, laughter and companionship but the knowledge that I would be safe, happy and comfortable.
What is your message to all the other miss world contestants?
To believe in themselves and overcome any obstacles that would prevent them form achieving their dreams and ambitions in a more realistic approach and have compassion and respect for your fellow contestants.
You’re judging the final five contestants, which question would you ask the finalists?
One day if you become a parent what would be the most important thing to teach your child?
