Veronika Orban

Veronika was born in Zalaegerszeg where she lives with her family . Having completed her education she attended a Technical School for Hairdressing and now works as a hair stylist. She has a special talent for Hair ‘sculpting’ and creating special hair styles. Her ambition is to have her own Beauty Shop. In her leisure time Veronika enjoys: listing to music, reading, swimming, running and dancing.


Where did you grow up? Tell us a little about your home town/city, and family.
I grew up in Salaegerszeg, a town in North Hungary. It is a nice, calm place. There is a little forest behind each house. I live with my parents and sister. We are fortunate to have a big, coherent family even my great - grandparents are alive.

What Jobs have you done? What was the most interesting/bizarre?
Ever since I graduated I have been working as a hairdresser.

What are your career ambitions, how do you plan to realise them?
I would like to start my own beauty shop.

What is the proudest moment of your life? (Not including winning your National Title)
When I created the first hairstyle on my own. It was a great feeling to see that I could add something to other’s feeling nice and satisfied.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
When our plane was late and we missed the flight that was to take us to our destination. We had to spend the night in London.

What was the funniest/most embarrassing moment of your life?
I have to travel and study a lot. People recognise me in the street. I have to pay attention to a lot more things.

Tell us about an interesting event you have attended, or a person that you have met.
I had the chance to hand a gift to a soldier of high standing at his birthday - dinner which was a great honour for me.

What would you like to do, if you became Miss World 2004?
I would like to support animal protection.

If you had a personal motto what would it be?
If we can’t do what we want, we must want what we can do.

Give details of any charitable work undertaken?
In the frame of the Miss World Hungary 2004 contest, I handed over colour TV-sets for Social Institutes.
