Floria Sigismondi, the director behind The Runaways and The Handmaid's Tale will be bringing her rendition of Henry James' horror novella "The Turning of the Screw" on the screen. The movie, titled "The Turning" is set to strike fear in the hearts of many.
"The Turning" is set at a mysterious estate in the Maine countryside, where a newly appointed nanny Kate (Mackenzie Davis) is charged with the care of two disturbed orphans, Flora (Brooklynn Prince) and Miles (Finn Wolfhard). She quickly discovers that both the children and the house are harboring dark secrets and things may not be as they appear.
"The Turning" is co-written by Carey W. Hayes, Chad Hayes, and Jade Bartlett and directed by Floria Sigismondi. The movie stars Mackenzie Davis, Brooklynn Prince, Finn Wolfhard, Joely Richardson, Mark Huberman, Barbara Marten, Niall Greig Fulton, Denna Thomsen, and Karen Egan.
The movie is scheduled for a theatrical release of January 24, 2020, by Universal Pictures.
