Pop star Britney Spears has been voted most irritating singer by shopworkers in a new poll by recruitment company Retailchoice.com.

According to BBC, the 'Toxic' singer beat fellow singers Usher, Kylie Minogue, 50 Cent, Robbie Williams, Akon, Beyonce, Blue, Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson.

In the survey, a third of shopworkers complained they suffered the same album being played up to 20 times a week in their stores, while 50 percent said customers also complained about store music driving them mad.

Christmas fired up the frustration with songs such as Jingle Bells , Slade's Merry Christmas Everyone and Bing Crosby's White Christmas topping the most hated list.

"Music is an essential part of the retail experience, and can help to make or break the ambience for both staff and customers. We would recommend that retailers who overplay records from our shop flop list should think again and consult employees to achieve a varied play list that is well received by both shoppers and staff," Greg Baines, marketing manager for retailchoice.com, was quoted as saying.
