Lydian Nadhaswaram a 13-year-old musical prodigy on Thursday won 1 million dollars on a US-based showThe World's Best.

Lydian gave a splendid performance; he played two pianos at a time at an impeccable speed, blindfolded.

"I have been playing the Piano for four years. I got inspiration from my sister, who plays the piano and my father, who plays keyboards. I'm happy that I won this prize," said Lydian.

"My parents home-school me so that I can solely concentrate on learning piano. I want to be the world's best composer," he added.

Lydian's father, Varshan Satish, who is a composer of late Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha's funeral song said, "I can't contain my happiness. He started singing at an early age. I knew he would become a great composer one day."

Apart from 50 other judges, the show was judged by Faith Hill, RuPaul Charles and Drew Barrymore.



Lydian Nadhaswaram is a student from 'Mozart of Madras', AR Rahman's KM Music Conservatory. And has been given the name, 'Mini Maestro'.

The young teen spent four years training at AR Rahman's KM Music Conservatory under Surojeet Chatterji in the Russian Piano School.

"Lydian's success is India's success. Who knew that, KMMC, a seed sown 11 years ago, would bring such inspiration to so many, such is the extraordinary power of music," A.R. Rahman said.
