IPL 2020 - Match No. 20 - Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals - Preview and Predictions

IPL 2020 - Match No. 20 - Mumbai Indians vs Rajasthan Royals - Preview and Predictions
The Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi will host Match 20 of the Dream11 Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 when Mumbai Indians (MI) take on Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Tuesday.

MI will be eyeing their third win in a row, having beaten Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in their last two games (most recent first).

RR, on the other hand, registered two wins from as many games at the start of the tournament against KXIP and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). But they lost their last two games - against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), while setting up the total, and against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) while chasing the target.

The Mumbai Indians are probably not going to change a winning combination, though, and continue to play in a similar manner. Quinton de Kock got some runs as well in the previous match, which just leave Suryakumar Yadav as the underperforming batsman in the lineup.

The biggest advantage that MI has it is ability to score an almost unbelievable number of runs in the final six overs. Pollard is perhaps the best T20 batsman in the world right now while almost every single batsman in the lineup can hit sixes with ease.

MI has a better and deeper batting lineup than RR, no question about that.

The bowling form of Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar has also provided a lot of balance. With Trent Boult, James Pattinson, and Jasprit Bumrah as the pacers, Mumbai has every aspect of its team well-covered and it is going to take something very special to stop it.

The Rajasthan Royals have found life a bit tough outside Sharjah. Their batsmen have not been able to get the same sort of results on the bigger outfields and on slower pitches. They have to take a more tempered approach in their batting otherwise they risk losing too many wickets up front.

Steve Smith, Jos Buttler, and Sanju Samson are the three clear match-winners in this team. Ben Stokes has joined the squad but he is going to not be available for this next match because of quarantine restrictions. This means we can expect a largely similar team setup.

The lack of depth in the RR batting is clear. Riyan Parag, Robin Uthappa, and Mahipal Lomror are talented but not nearly at the same level as what the Mumbai Indians have.

The bowling is also far too dependent on Jofra Archer at the moment. Maybe switching out Tom Curran for David Miller and replacing Robin Uthappa with a bowler could be the way to go in this match.

RR will be out to break the two-match losing streak while MI will be eager to complete a hat-trick of wins to register their fourth win of the IPL 2020.

Weather Forecast
It's going to be a sunny day with no chances of rain playing spoilsport. The highest temperature will be around 38 degree while the minimum temperature will be around 28 degree. Wind speed will be about 19 kmph and humidity is likely to be around 52 per cent.

Pitch Report
The conditions in Abu Dhabi have been a bit on the slower side but still in favor of the batsmen. The spinners are a big force but we would not say that the conditions have gone far too much in their favor just yet. Anything above 175 seems to be par for the surface.

Toss Prediction
Teams have started to work out that batting first is more preferable this year - a tactic that worked for Mumbai last time out.
