In a statement, Halima's husband Kader Arby told the BBC, "I'm happy very, very happy. My wife and the babies 'five girls and four boys', all born by Caesarean section and are doing very well."

In most of the nonuplet cases due to complications often babies do not survive but in Halima's case, babies are healthy and doing fine till now.

The 25-year-old delivered babies by cesarean section on Tuesday in Morocco hospital after being sent there for special care. Mali's health minister said in a statement, "The newborns (five girls and four boys) and the mother are all doing well."

On the other side, Morocco's health ministry spokesman, Rachid Koudhari, said he had no knowledge of the multiple births that have taken place in one of the country's hospitals, the AFP news agency reported.

Speaking about the Guinness World Record for the most children delivered at a single birth to survive belongs to Nadya Suleman. In 2009, she gave birth to six boys and two girls in California. The babies were conceived using in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment and were delivered by C-section.
