Now, reportedly, 4,000 vehicles that were on their way to Mussoorie and Nainital were sent back by Uttarakhand Police. Uttarakhand Police Headquarters Spokesperson DIG Nilesh Anand Bharane told ANI, "A clear message has been given to the tourists that if they are coming to Uttarakhand, RT-PCR test, registration, and a prior hotel booking are mandatory for everyone."
DIG Nilesh also requested the tourists not to visit Mussoorie and Nainital as they tend to explore several places and will create an unnecessary crowd. So in order to avoid the haywire situation, he suggested people to traverse other parts of the state. He further added that tourists without registration, RT-PCR test and hotel booking will not be allowed to enter the state.

Currently, the state has 1,094 active COVID-19 cases, as per the Union Health Ministry report. Besides, on Monday, as per the reports, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) stated that "the third wave is inevitable and imminent" and asked the central and state governments to control mass gatherings.
As per the Uttarakhand tourism department and police, Mussoorie and Nainital recorded a tourist footfall of more than 10000 last weekend. It has been also revealed that the economy of all these hill towns has been shaken due to an absence of tourists. As before the pandemic, every year thousands of tourists used to visit these places but now, amid the second wave, the state government is keen on avoiding such crowds.
President of Uttarakhand Hotel Association, Sandeep Saini said, "It has been months since local hotels had good business. The industry has suffered a lot and thousands have lost their livelihood. However, everybody has to be careful about Covid guidelines."
Well, being the educated civilians of the country, people should be aware of the current COVID scenario and must avoid such mass gatherings.
