Barbara Bush, one of President Bush's 19-year-old twin daughters, has pleaded no contest to an underage drinking count stemming from an incident last month in a restaurant.

Her twin, Jenna Bush, has pleaded innocent to a charge of misrepresenting her age while trying to buy a margarita with someone else's identification.

Barbara Bush, who was cited along with her sister after a May 29 visit to Chuy's Mexican restaurant in Austin, Texas, did not appear Thursday at an Austin municipal court when her lawyer, Gerry Morris entered the plea for her.

She was sentenced to probation and eight hours of community service and must attend an alcohol awareness class, according to court records obtained Friday. She was also ordered to pay $100 in court fees. The probation, technically called "deferred disposition," runs through September 7.

Morris has not immediately returned messages left Friday by The Associated Press.

A letter dated June 6 from the court to Jenna Bush's attorney Bill Allison set a court date of July 31. It indicates that Jenna pleaded innocent to the charge.

The court had previously said both daughters were scheduled to appear June 18.

Two weeks before the May 29 incident, Jenna Bush pleaded no contest to underage drinking charges. She was ordered to take alcohol counseling and perform community service.

The White House has called the incidents a private family matter.
