Woman Tricks Husband Into Selling His Kidney For Rs 10 Lakh Then Elopes With Lover Along With Money
A woman allegedly tricked her husband into selling his kidney for Rs 10 lakh only to run away with the cash with her lover in the Howrah district of West Bengal.

The complaint alleged the woman was persuading the man for the past year to sell his kidney to live a better life and fund their 12-year-old daughter's education. The man believed his wife and agreed to sell the kidneys. He signed a deal with a buyer for Rs 10 lakh. After the surgery, the man got the money, as per a PTI report.

The woman allegedly asked the husband not to step out for a speedy recovery. "Then one day she left the house and did not return. I later found the entire amount of Rs 10 lakh in cash along with some more was missing from the almirah," the man said in his complaint.

Police have launched a probe based on a complaint lodged by the husband's family living in Sankrail.

The woman was later found in a house in Kolkata’s northern suburbs Barrackpore, far away from Howrah, with the help of their friends. The woman was allegedly living with a man with whom she had eloped. The complaint alleged that the woman had been in a relationship with him for the past one year after meeting him on Facebook.

As her husband, daughter and mother-in-law reached the house, she refused to come out. Her lover allegedly told them that she would file a divorce suit alleging physical and mental torture by the woman's in-laws in the 16 years of their marital life.

The woman denied taking any cash from the in-laws’ home at Sankrail and claimed she only took away the money she had saved.

The officer said that based on the complaint and scanning the video footage of the lover’s interaction with the husband’s family, police launched a probe into the complaint.

Police said they would question the woman and her lover before initiating any action.
