Actress spoke to killer at 'bleak time'
Angelina Jolie once tried to recruit a hitman to kill her. The Tomb Raider actress says that she came close to having herself bumped off at a ‘rather bleak’ time of her life and that she actually made contact with a professional killer.
‘This is going to sound insane,’ said Jolie, truthfully, ‘but there was a time when I was going to hire someone to kill me. The person spoke very sweetly to me; he made me think about it for a month. After a month other things had changed in my life and I was surviving again.’ However, Jolie claims that her actions were intended to spare the shame of her loved ones. ‘With suicide comes all the guilt of people around you thinking they could have done something. With someone being murdered, nobody takes some kind of guilty responsibility.’
