| Once there was a competition to decide who was the best milkman. The only rule to be followed was that the person would be locked inside a chamber and could take his own sweet time with the cow, milking her. First was the turn of an American who went in and came out with thirty litres of milk after two hours. Then Russian went in, and came out with forty litres in four hours. Then a Japanese even got better of the two, and an Australian who after a full ten hours got eighty litres of milk. Now it was the turn of Banta, who proudly went in with his animal and did not come out after one whole day, and people could hear him abuse the animal in his own language. Then after a lapse of one and a half days Banta came out with a small glass of milk and people started laughing at him. An embarrassed Banta remarked "Oye twanu sab noo ta gau milee si, mainu ta baald phada ditaa"(You all got a cow to milk what I got was an ox and see what I have done.) |
