Listening is a sacred art. Deep listening is miraculous for both listener and speaker. When someone welcomes us with open hearted, accepting, interested listening, our spirits expand and we are inspired to unveil the miracle of our Self.
Listening is not merely not talking, though even that is beyond most of our powers; it means taking a vigorous, human interest in what is being told us. You can listen like a blank wall or like a splendid auditorium where every sound comes back fuller and richer.
Were we as eloquent as angels, yet should we please... much more by listening, than by talking.
